How are people with cancer so hopeful despite their condition?

I was reading a book called "The Ultimate Cancer Survival Guide" out of curiosity.

It says that the majority of people affected by cancer take a proactive attitude and

do not constantly confront their illness. Most are not depressed about it and are

actually quite hopeful and they love company from others. They do not think about

their distress around the clock. They try to fill their time with hobbies and people.

How are they so resilient? It is very admirable to me. Have you ever known anyone

with cancer? I find it very interesting how their positive attitudes can help them

survive? I would love to have your input on this topic. Thank you kindly.

How to prevent getting cancer if you know it runs in your family?

I know there are DNA tests that can tell you if your probability of getting cancer is higher than average. But once you learn that the probabilty is higher indeed, what can you do to prevent cancer from developing? Is there any solution other than cutting out the endangered body part? I’ve heard of people who decided to remove their brests, uteruses and stomachs, but what if the cancer in question is leukemia or something like this?

BTW I am asking out of curiosity, so don’t be scared ^_^

What are the dietary restrictions for type 2 diabetes?

Everyone in my extended family has diabetes, so it seems likely enough that i will develop it at some point. So just out of curiosity… what can’t you eat if you have diabetes?
