meditation is wonderful, it definitely makes you become more aware and sensitive to life and yourself and therefore to other people, it makes you relaxed, blissful and fulfilled if you find the right technique given by a real master.
Benefits of Meditation
Much scientific research had been done on meditation and its effects and benefits. Nithyananda himself has gladly participated in many research studies on the brain and the effect of meditation and healing.
To name a few of the benefits one experiences on meditating regularly and intensely:
Improved physical health, mental wellness and emotional wellbeing
Guaranteed Solutions for fear, worry, depression, anxiety, jealousy and dissatisfaction
More fulfilling interpersonal relationships at home and work
Improved productivity and performance at work
Enhanced creativity, clarity of perception
More energetic and enthusiastic
Reduced stress levels
Inner relaxation
Self-confidence
Self-motivation leading to motivating others automatically
Increased concentration and greater responsibility with ease
Centering in oneself and solid inner balance
Increased Intelligence Quotient (IQ), Emotional Quotient (EQ) and Spiritual Quotient (SQ)
Increased spontaneity
Actualizing one’s potential
Enjoying every moment of life
The right question to start with – ‘Why meditate?’
What is your ultimate aim in life?
To earn more?
To stay young, healthy and beautiful?
To have better, long-lasting relationships?
The list is endless – for each individual, there will be a specific goal.
But every single goal – without exception, every single goal – points to the same thing: a yearning for the state of ananda or bliss.
Can you say, ‘I am not interested in being happy, in being blissful.’?
Each of us is searching for nothing but ananda or bliss. However intellectual, however sophisticated may be the terms in which we express it, we are all seeking bliss. Only the ways we are searching for are different – through money, power, relationships etc. The word ananda itself means, ‘that which cannot be reduced’. It is not happiness or pleasure. It is the state beyond both pleasure and pain, where both pleasure and pain no longer affect you.
The straight and sure route to that bliss is meditation. When you meditate, you go beyond the narrow limits of your body, of your ego. This is a difficult concept to understand. But, with sincere meditation, you can simply experience it.
Meditation relaxes the body and mind, bringing clarity of thought. This helps you see life with a new perspective, and you start living intensely and spontaneously. It is the guaranteed solution to your stress, depression, worries, fears and all your negative emotions that mask your true nature of bliss.

I’m an atheist, but I don’t see anything wrong with meditation. If it makes you feel more relaxed, and relieves you from stress, I would say go ahead!
Lowers blood pressure, reduces the effects of stress on your body, it relaxes you.
Read Qur’an
You could become enlightened and truly KNOW that all unhappiness is caused by desire for different circumstances and ultimately it’s all ignorance of (and within) Maya.
Then again, perhaps not.

NO
Find the one true God. Search him out.
Test all theories. Look in to religions. Then Come back to the true answer: which is the God of jacob, abraham, david. The God who is Jesus and who is the holy spirit. Find him, Come to him, develop a relationship with him. THEN, you will be happy!
No.
Meditation practiced properly brings equilibrium into your life. Happiness and unhappiness are opposites the mind likes to deal in. You’ll notice you can’t be happy for long before you’re unhappy. Realizing this is the beginning of self knowledge.
