I was not critisising anyone! I was asking a question.
I dont know any diabetic‘s personally, just aquantances and was questioning why they wouldn’t eat the fresh apples, but plowed in the danishes.
Do you want to talk about a restricted diet…I choose to be a vegetarian with vegan ways!!

So take your know-it-all attitude and shove it upyourass!!!!!

Yes, orange juice is not a good choice. Danish is a no , no. She is the type of person that ask doctor can I have a Half danish. And from there on "doctor says I can have So and so. You can just wait for Blindness , amputation, failed kidneys.
    Get another friend!

Mcdonalds and gummie worms shouldn’t be high on the list of anyone as far as "good" foods go. Diabetics can eat things like that but would need to cover the meal with insulin. Things with high carb/sugar and fat grams will make it harder to contol their bloodsugars as more insulin is required to cover these items.

Gummie worms are good for me when my blood sugar is low. Apples are bad for me when my blood sugar is high. I’ll take insulin to eat a danish, but will skip the orange juice because it is harder to bolus for. Again, unless I’m low, when OJ is perfect. There is a method behind our madness… it’s just a complicated balancing act.

This person is clearly in denial and probably doesn’t care or want to deal with this, but will care when their kidneys shut down, they go into a diabetic coma, they lose their legs or limbs due to infections, etc. etc as the list goes on.

Mc Donald’s is bad food for everyone, but not particularly bad for diabetics.

Gummie worms can easily be sugar free. Even if not, a few every now and again isn’t going to hurt.

Danishes aren’t great for anyone, but can easily be dealt with by insulin, so no problem.

OJ is pure sugar. Just because it’s fruit sugar, doesn’t mean it’s okay.

If you think you know better than her, then try this.

No white pasta, rice, or bread,
    Few potatoes.
    No sweets
    No chocolate
    No fruit juice
    No sugar soda
    No danishes
    No sugar deserts
    No ice pops
    No fatty foods

Go on. Try the diet, just two months.

She will have this for the rest of her life.

    FOR EVER.

I bet you can’t even do that for 2 months without wanting a danish, or a pack of chips, some OJ, chocolate.

    No cheating.

    See how it feels.

    Dare you.

I’m sick and tired of people critisising our diets and saying we shouldn’t eat this or that, you couldn’t deal with it for 2 months, so how about forever.
