Is it true that TMS can help with unlocking or developing stronger intuitive and self-creative abillities in writing, music or art? I’d like to participate in a volunteer study.

this sounds like it could be dangerous..what other effects can this have on the brain?

My mother will be starting this treatment tomorrow. We’re excited to see how it goes because she has been previously undergoing ECT. ECT I think (while effective) is more intensive for the patient’s body. With ECT my mother has to have an EKG, go under anesthesia, and has to have someone take her home afterwards. I hope TMS will be just as effective without all the hassle.

This is an insane thing to do. There is no justification for sending an arbitrarily large current-inducing (/nerve stimulating) EMP through the brain. I don’t even know what to say. this is absurd.

@poeticpisces2007 I thought your comment was hilarious until I read your screen name. Now I just kinda feel bad for you. Good luck finding creative inspiration, fish.

This tool is not so bad for pharmacoresistant neurologic problems. The charge is not sent arbitrarily because with brain mapping techniques (like stereo-EEG or MRI) sites with problems can be localized.
